BGN Chief Sudaryono Advises SPPG: Work with Heart, Not Just for Money

JAKARTA – Sudaryono, Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), has called on all Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG), nutrition supervisors, finance supervisors and SPPG volunteers to carry out the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme with full responsibility, care and conscience.

Sudaryono emphasised that the Free Nutritious Meal Programme is a great mandate to fulfil the nutritional rights of the public, particularly children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and other beneficiary groups.

“So my message to all SPPG heads, nutrition supervisors, accountants and all kitchen staff was this: we work with heart. Working is not just about earning money, about simply handing out food — no! It must be genuinely scrutinised,” said Sudaryono during a surprise inspection in Bogor on Friday (24/7).

For that reason, he said, every SPPG officer plays an important role in ensuring that the food served not only meets operational standards, but is also truly safe, fit for consumption and of good quality.

According to the official, who is familiarly known as Mas Dar, the success of the MBG Programme is determined not only by compliance with operational standards, but also by the commitment of all officers to ensuring that every meal served is genuinely fit, safe and nutritious.
