BGN Chief Meets Purbaya to Discuss Budget Efficiency and MBG Oversight

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa held a meeting with the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S. Deyang, on Thursday afternoon (25/6/2026). Purbaya stated that at least three topics were discussed, including efforts to achieve budget efficiency. “Discussing budget efficiency efforts, handling inefficiencies and oversight in the implementation of the MBG programme, and acceleration plans for the 3T regions (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged),” according to a post on the @menkeuri Instagram account. According to Purbaya, this meeting represents a strategic step and the Government’s commitment to improving the MBG programme. He assured that going forward, the programme will be better targeted and provide optimal and sustainable benefits for Indonesian children. The meeting was also attended by two Deputy Heads of the National Nutrition Agency, Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono. It focused on strengthening governance, transparency, and the effectiveness of programme implementation in the field. Several tactical measures discussed included: Refocusing the budget to align fund allocation so it fully supports national priority programmes; Optimising regional infrastructure by utilising State Assets and Auction Service Offices (KPKNL) at the district/city level to assist with physical inspections of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG); and Enhancing human resource capacity by organising financial accountability training for SPPG heads to comprehensively boost accountability standards.
