BGN Chief Asks Regional Prosecutors to Oversee Free Nutritious Meal Programme

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sudaryono and his staff visited the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) today. Sudaryono directly requested Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to involve High Prosecutors’ Offices (kejati) and District Prosecutors’ Offices (kejari) in providing assistance and oversight for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.

“He requested that going forward there will be assistance. Legal assistance, legal audits, including field supervision involving colleagues at the district and high prosecutors’ offices,” said BGN Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision Ketut Sumedana to reporters at the Kejagung building, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/8/2026).

Ketut stated that the new BGN leadership is making maximum efforts to carry out improvements and evaluations. He expressed hope that the governance of the MBG programme would be better than before and that its benefits would be increasingly felt by the public.

“All governance will be built properly. The new leadership’s commitment is to build good governance, good service, like that,” he said.

Attorney General Hopes MBG Corruption Will Not Recur

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin received a courtesy call from BGN Head Sudaryono and his staff today. During the meeting, the Attorney General conveyed that the corruption which occurred in the management of the free nutritious meal programme should serve as evaluation material for the current BGN leadership.

“The leadership clearly conveyed that what has happened should be used as evaluation material going forward,” said Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre Anang Supriatna to reporters while relaying the Attorney General’s statement during the meeting with BGN leadership on Tuesday (11/8).

The Attorney General also expressed his hope that corruption in the management of the MBG programme would not be repeated. Anang said the Attorney General is ready to assist if BGN requires support from the Prosecutor’s Office in implementing the MBG programme.

“Do not let it happen again, especially in terms of governance. And the Prosecutor’s Office is ready to assist in providing guidance going forward,” he stated.
