BGN Chief Addresses Rp1.6 Trillion Debt to Third Parties
Jakarta, VIVA – The head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, has spoken out about the agency’s Rp1.6 trillion debt to third parties.
Sudaryono explained that the settlement of the debt is still undergoing an audit process, and he is reluctant to take any steps before all procedures are complete.
“Regarding this debt, or rather these arrears — they are not debts, they are arrears. These arrears relate to land, and the auditor is currently auditing them. Once they are clean and clear, I believe they will be paid,” Sudaryono told reporters at the BGN office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.
Sudaryono explained that the payment of arrears must follow the applicable mechanism. He assured that the arrears owed to third parties are not a problem at BGN.
“I won’t say ‘you must pay this one yourself’ — that’s not possible, I don’t want that. Everything is trust in the system, not trust in person,” he said.
“We want what is lawful, good and correct, in accordance with the mechanism — that is what we will settle. I think it’s no issue, sir, there is no problem,” Sudaryono concluded.
As previously reported, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) acknowledged that it still has outstanding arrears to third parties worth Rp1.6 trillion, arising from various activities in 2025.
This was disclosed by BGN Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari during a meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 17 July 2026.
“There are several important notes, because financial statements consist not only of figures within the financial statements but also of what are called notes to the financial statements, which are qualitative explanations,” Agustina said during the meeting.
“The first is the 2025 arrears: there is Rp1.6 trillion for activities that have been completed. This means the activities have been fully carried out but have not yet been paid,” she continued.
Agustina explained that the arrears will be paid through the arrears mechanism under the 2026 budget (DIPA).
She said BGN is currently revising its budget with the Directorate General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance.
“We would perhaps like to apologise to all third parties who may have claims against BGN that we have not yet been able to settle or pay, because the process is still ongoing,” she explained.
