A meeting to discuss the draft budget for the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for 2027 at the House of Representatives (DPR) was held behind closed doors. Commission IX of the DPR RI explained the meeting was closed to avoid causing misperceptions among the public. Deputy Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI, Charles Honoris, explained the meeting discussed a budget draft that is not yet final because the indicative ceiling presented was the result of a draft prepared by the previous BGN leadership, who were dismissed by President Prabowo Subianto. “The budget to be presented is not an accurate budget, so it might be better not to convey it openly, rather than ultimately causing various misperceptions,” Charles said when met on the sidelines of the closed meeting at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Monday. He said that during the meeting, the BGN had presented the indicative ceiling for the 2027 fiscal year set by the government, which is around Rp270 trillion. Nevertheless, he stressed that this ceiling is not the definitive budget that will be used by the BGN. “I must give a disclaimer that this budget is not the budget that will be approved and used because this is a budget prepared by the old BGN leadership,” he said.
