BGN and KPK Leadership Discuss Action Plan for 10 Findings on Free Nutritious Meals Programme
The leadership of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to discuss an action plan for following up on the anti-graft body’s review of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme governance. KPK Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring Aminudin stated that the meeting focused on the BGN’s proposed action plan to address the commission’s recommendations. “There are 10 review recommendations we have provided, and today the BGN presented the action plan they will undertake,” Aminudin said at the KPK’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (7/7).
BGN Vice Chairperson Agustina Arumsari explained that the KPK had delivered its review findings on 17 March 2026, during the tenure of the previous BGN leadership. She noted that upon the new leadership’s arrival on 2 June 2026, they discovered no response had been made to the findings. “We studied all of them, there are 10 findings, and we examined them one by one,” Agustina stated. She added that as a government institution receiving recommendations from bodies like the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and the Development and Finance Comptroller (BPKP), the BGN is obliged to formulate a follow-up action plan.
Agustina confirmed that a team has been established to discuss the 10 findings and draft the necessary action plan. The plan was formally presented to the KPK leadership during the meeting. Among the KPK’s strategic findings were that the MBG programme was operating without a comprehensive blueprint, with its current assessment focusing solely on the number of beneficiaries rather than its original goal of tackling stunting. The review also identified excessively broad discretionary powers for policymakers, which could create opportunities for transactional practices, fraud, and corruption. Other findings included potential conflicts of interest, a lack of transparency in recruitment, and an MBG ecosystem that has not been systematically developed.
