BGN and Attorney General's Office Collaborate to Oversee MBG Programme
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN), the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Tuban Regency Government are strengthening their synergy in supervising the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in the Tuban and Bojonegoro districts, East Java. The Attorney General’s Office is also developing a digital MBG supervision system that includes real-time monitoring, an early warning system, and data integration to detect potential issues. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chair of BGN for Operations, Retired Inspector General of Police Sony Sanjaya, during a visit to Tuban on Wednesday (1/4). Sony explained the importance of cross-sector collaboration in overseeing the implementation of the MBG programme. According to him, effective supervision not only ensures accurate distribution but also maintains the quality and sustainability of the programme in the regions. He reminded that the implementation of the MBG programme must be monitored by all parties. Every allocated fund is a mandate from the people that must be accounted for. Because, SPPG as the spearhead of MBG organisers must consistently maintain the quality and standards of every product. “Every deviation and violation of SOP will result in sanctions for the SPPG organisers,” he emphasised. Through this activity, it is hoped that a shared understanding will be built regarding the importance of supervision, as well as stronger synergy between local governments, the Attorney General’s Office, the National Nutrition Agency, and all stakeholders in successfully achieving President Prabowo’s eight aspirations. Junior Intelligence Prosecutor of the Attorney General’s Office, Reda Manthovani, reminded that the MBG programme is a real implementation of the constitutional mandate to advance public welfare and enlighten the nation’s life, and it has a legal basis through Presidential Regulation Number 115 of 2025. In its implementation, the Attorney General’s Office plays an active role through collaboration with the National Nutrition Agency, particularly in securing strategic programmes, data exchange, and preventing potential deviations through an integrated intelligence approach. “The focus of supervision includes preventing budget misuse, ensuring the accuracy of beneficiary data, smooth distribution, and fulfilment of food quality standards,” he explained. The Attorney General’s Office is developing a digital supervision system called “Jaga Dapur MBG”. This system includes real-time monitoring, an early warning system, and data integration to detect potential issues, including over-budgeting and service quality. The system also provides a public complaint channel and satisfaction measurement. Reda also invited the public as MBG beneficiaries to participate in supervision. If discrepancies are found in products, whether nutritional content, distribution processes, or SPPG management, the public should report them to the Attorney General’s Office. “In addition, we will also provide appreciation to SPPGs that consistently maintain their performance,” he affirmed.
