BGN: 900 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units in 3T regions to be operated to support remote area MBG programme
The MBG Programme Task Force in 3T regions has registered with BGN, which will subsequently verify to commence construction and operation of SPPG in these remote areas.
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will soon operate 900 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in Indonesia’s disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions, as a government step to accelerate the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme in remote areas.
“Insha’Allah, the MBG Programme will soon be implemented in these 3T regions,” said Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sanjaya during the MBG Programme Consolidation Meeting in Pangkalpinang on Friday.
He stated that the implementation of the MBG Programme in 3T regions will be further optimised to improve the health and nutrition of children, toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers in remote areas.
He explained that the registration of SPPG in 3T regions with BGN is carried out through MBG Programme task forces at the district/city level in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost areas.
“The MBG Programme Task Force in 3T regions registers with BGN, which is then verified to start construction and operation of SPPG in these remote areas,” he said.
“Currently, the construction of SPPG in the Bangka Belitung Islands is in progress, and we are also coordinating with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to determine the number of SPPG for distributing MBG to beneficiaries in this region,” said Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sanjaya.
