BGN: 2,213 SPPGs Remain Suspended Until End of May 2026
JAKARTA - Input from the public, regional government reports, surprise inspection findings, and monitoring results of incidents experienced by beneficiaries form the basis for evaluation by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
Based on this evaluation, BGN has decided to temporarily suspend operations of thousands of Nutrition Service Units (SPPGs) spread across various regions in Indonesia.
“From the start of the MBG programme on 6 January 2025 until 29 May 2026, out of the total 27,208 SPPGs currently operating nationwide, 8,182 have been suspended at some point,” said Nanik S. Deyang, Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation, in Jakarta on Sunday (31 May 2026).
Of these, 10 SPPGs were suspended due to prominent incidents, while 138 others were suspended over infrastructure, organisational governance, and nutritional quality standards issues.
Meanwhile, 610 SPPGs previously suspended have resumed operations after meeting regulatory requirements.
This brings the total number of SPPGs that have undergone suspension in the region to 758.
BGN also noted that 1,800 previously suspended SPPGs have been reactivated.
Consequently, the total number of SPPGs that have faced suspension in Region II reaches 3,466.
In Region III, which includes Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua, out of 4,646 operational SPPGs, 399 remain suspended.
A further 3,559 SPPGs previously suspended have resumed operations, bringing the total suspended in the region to 3,959.
Nationally, BGN recorded 8,182 SPPGs suspended since the programme began, with 5,969 having resumed operations after meeting technical and administrative requirements.
