Former Supreme Court chief justice Sarwata dies: Former Supreme Court chief justice Air First Marshall (ret) Sarwata died of cancer at Pondok Indah Hospital in South Jakarta on Sunday. He was 68. He is survived by a wife and two children. Born in Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra, on July 1935, Sarwata was a 1962 graduate of Gajah Mada University's law school. That same year he graduated from the officer's school. A 1973 graduate of the Air Force Command College, Sarwata served as chief justice from 1996 to 2000. He will be buried on Monday at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta. --Antara
