F1 BMW Scholarship for Alexandra

JAKARTA: Asian 2003 Kart Open Championship runner-up Alexandra
Asmasoebrata was nominated to take part in the Formula BMW
Scholarship Qualification to be held in Apartado Correos,
Albacete, Spain, from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15.

A press release that reached The Jakarta Post on Friday stated
that the scholarship would be awarded to four young talented
Asian drivers (15 to 22 years old), to be coached by former BMW
drivers Jorg Muller and Mike Strotmann in preparation for the
Formula BMW Series Asia 2004.

Alexandra is the first Asian woman nominated for the
scholarship. Other Asians who have graduated from the scholarship
program are Takuma Sato (F1 BAR Honda driver), Alex Young (former
F1 Minardi driver) and Tung Ho Pin (F1 test driver for Williams
BMW).

Preparing for the qualification, Alexandra will be coached by
Alex Young at Sepang International Circuit from Feb. 5 through
Feb. 6. --JP
