PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a tangible contribution to the welfare of the people in Boven Digoel, South Papua.

As a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) under Danantara Indonesia, Agrinas Palma Nusantara has been tasked by the state to develop integrated palm oil production as part of a National Strategic Project (PSN). This development is directed towards increasing national palm oil production capacity, while simultaneously providing economic benefits to the community through job creation and strategic partnerships.

The Deputy President Director of Agrinas Palma, Kusdi Sastro Kidjan, emphasised that the effort to prosper the community is the primary orientation for SOEs, as mandated by the state to these state-owned companies.

“The primary orientation of an SOE is actually the welfare of the community. We have been given a task by the state. Therefore, it is not solely profit-oriented. Profit must be maintained so that the company can continue to grow and develop. However, the priority is the welfare of the people,” Kusdi stated in a briefing on Thursday, 3 September 2026.

These remarks were made during a socialisation event regarding Partnership for the Welfare of Palm Oil Development in Boven Digoel to Support National Food and Energy Security, held in Anggai Village, Jair District, Boven Digoel Regency, South Papua Province.

“This nation is incredibly wealthy. Therefore, all of us, including the ladies and gentlemen here, must prosper. One way to achieve this is through the field we are currently engaged in, which is palm oil,” said Kusdi.

The socialisation event, attended by local government officials, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community figures, serves as the initial stage of programme development in South Papua. The activity also provides a platform for the community to obtain information and share their views before the next stages of the project proceed.
