Beyond Energy: Rosan Plans Import of 50 Boeing Aircraft
JAKARTA — Investment and Downstream Industries Minister/BKPM Chief and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has unveiled two major plans directly affecting the import balance: the purchase of energy and the procurement of aircraft from the United States.
According to Rosan, the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) encompasses energy imports of up to US$15 billion per year and the procurement of 50 Boeing aircraft.
“There is a plan to purchase 50 Boeing aircraft,” Rosan said in a written statement on Friday, 20 February.
Rosan indicated that initial communications with Boeing are already under way and will be followed up.
He also mentioned plans to import energy from the United States. “There is an agreement to import gas and crude oil worth US$15 billion per year,” he said.
He stressed that several aspects of the agreement’s implementation fall within the purview of the Ministry of Investment and Danantara, particularly in relation to investments and projects currently being prepared.
“We have also begun discussions on several potential investments in the pipeline, both in the oil and gas sector and in other fields,” Rosan affirmed.
