Beware Toll Road Congestion Nightmare! Avoid Travelling on These Dates for Eid Holiday
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has predicted peak homebound and return traffic for Eid 2026 using private vehicles traversing Jasa Marga toll roads. Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan Achmad Purwantono predicted peak homebound traffic will occur on 18 March 2026, whilst peak return traffic is forecast for 24 March 2026.
Rivan predicted that approximately 3.5 million vehicles will pass through Jasa Marga toll roads during this period.
“Our estimate is 3.5 million vehicles, where we expect peak homebound traffic on 18 March 2026 and peak return traffic on 24 March 2026,” Rivan said during a Jasa Marga media briefing on Tuesday 10 March 2026.
However, Rivan noted that public movement is expected to begin as early as Friday 13 March, coinciding with the start of a work-from-anywhere policy beginning on 16 March 2026.
“We expect movement to commence from this Friday due to the extended holiday period,” he added.
Of the expected traffic movement, Rivan detailed that 28% will head westbound (towards Merak Port), 50% will head eastbound (Trans Java Toll and Cipularang Toll), and 20% will head southbound (Jagorawi Toll towards Bogor).
“From the 3.5 million vehicles in motion, 28% will head towards Merak, 50% will head eastbound to the Trans Java and Cipularang toll junctions, and 20% will head towards Bogor,” he explained.
Rivan further detailed that of the 50% of vehicles heading eastbound, 57% will use the Trans Java Toll and 42% will use the Cipularang Toll.
“Of the 50% heading eastbound, 57% will pass through Trans Java and 42% will pass through Cipularang,” he said.
