Beware of wicked housemaid
Beware of wicked housemaid
From Republika
I want to warn readers who have just employed a new maid.
On Aug. 15, 1995 my maid Rambat asked for permission to visit
her home town for a week. She comes from Mungkung village,
Wonosobo in Central Java and is about 20 years old and 140
centimeters tall. She had been with us for about one year and had
shown convincingly nice behavior and satisfactory work.
After two weeks she didn't return. When we checked her room,
we were surprised to find that she had taken all her belongings
with her. Later we were quite alarmed to learn that some of our
children's things, like a watch and small accessories, had also
been taken.
I'm not sure if Rambat stole the items, but strongly suspect
her. We went to Mungkung village to find her only to be told that
she had already returned to Jakarta. We failed to find her, but
some believed she is staying somewhere in Bekasi. We then
realized that she had betrayed us, despite our deep affection for
her.
