Beware of IKD Activation Scams, Don't Click Links Indiscriminately!

Be cautious of scams inviting activation of the Digital Population Identity (IKD) via SMS or WhatsApp that impersonate Dukcapil. Do not click on the links sent indiscriminately. According to official information from Dukcapil Jakarta, IKD activation is never conducted online through: unofficial websites, WhatsApp messages, telephone calls, video calls, or invitation letters. Dukcapil officers never contact residents personally to carry out IKD activation. IKD activation is only done in person at all Dukcapil service counters: Village Administrative Service Units for Population Administration and Civil Registration, District Population and Civil Registration Service Offices, City/Administrative District Population and Civil Registration Sub-Directorate Offices, DKI Jakarta Provincial Population and Civil Registration Office, or through home service based on an official assignment letter from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Dukcapil Office/City/Administrative District Dukcapil Sub-Directorate Office. Characteristics of the Scam Method: Contacting via WhatsApp/telephone/video call impersonating Dukcapil. Sending links to unofficial websites for IKD activation (in fact: the official IKD application is only downloaded via PlayStore or AppStore). Sending invitation letters to encourage IKD activation, followed by requests to click website links for activation. Offering paid assistance services for IKD activation (in fact: IKD activation is free and incurs no fees whatsoever). How to Report IKD Scams: If you find indications of a scam, you can take the following steps. Screenshot the mobile number, link, and other evidence used by the scammer. Report online on the website https://www.patrolisiber.id. You can report directly to Polda Metro Jaya’s Cyber Unit if necessary; Dukcapil officers are ready to assist in the reporting process. Based on Law No. 23/2006 on Population Administration and its amendment Law No. 24/2013, every resident is obliged to report population events (moves/arrivals) and important events (births, deaths, marriages) to the implementing agency according to their domicile, fulfilling the required requirements for population registration and civil registration.
