Beware of Fatigue Points on Central Java Tollways During 2026 Lebaran Exodus: Locations and One-Way Schedule
The Central Java Regional Police (Polda Jateng) has issued an early warning to holidaymakers to be cautious of fatigue points whilst traversing tollway routes in Central Java during the 2026 Lebaran exodus. This advisory is crucial given that vehicle traffic from Jakarta and West Java is predicted to increase sharply in the coming days ahead of Lebaran 2026.
Kombes Pol Artanto, Head of Public Affairs at Central Java Regional Police, revealed that based on evaluation data from previous years, drivers from the western direction begin to reach saturation point and experience physical fatigue upon entering Central Java.
Two tollway sections of primary concern are the Pejagan–Semarang and Semarang–Solo tollways. The long and monotonous road conditions on both sections frequently cause driver concentration to decline drastically, both physically and psychologically.
“Long-distance holiday travel requires the body to be in peak condition. If you begin to feel tired or drowsy, it is best not to push yourself and to rest immediately at a safe location,” said Artanto at the Central Java Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
The public should note the crucial schedule to better plan their travel timing. Predictions for national traffic flow waves are as follows:
To alleviate vehicle volume congestion, the National Police together with relevant stakeholders have prepared a one-way traffic management scheme on the Trans Java tollway routes.
Central Java Regional Police have provided 25 rest areas along the tollway network in Central Java, comprising 13 locations on route A and 12 on route B. Holidaymakers are strongly advised to rest wisely. Once the body has recovered, holidaymakers are asked to resume their journey promptly to allow other travellers the opportunity to rest.
Beyond physical preparation, officers have also emphasised the importance of checking vehicle roadworthiness, compliance with traffic regulations, and following field officer instructions, particularly during contraflow enforcement.
To facilitate quick access to travel information, the public is urged to utilise the digital “Si Polan” Chatbot service, which can be accessed through WhatsApp. This service provides various important information such as real-time traffic conditions, rest area locations, and vehicle safety requirements.
With thorough preparation and high discipline, it is hoped that the target of Safe Travel, Happy Families can be achieved for all those celebrating Idulfitri in their hometowns.
