Beware of fake letters

A letter purportedly coming from the secretary-general of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Muchtar, and bearing his forged signature, has of late been circulating among business circles, asking for donations in conjunction with the visit to Central and East Java to be made by Minister of Industry and Trade Rini Ms. Soewandi in early February. Therefore, we deem it necessary to explain the following: (1) The secretary-general of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has never issued a letter under number 412/SJ-01/2002 dated Jan. 7, 2002, regarding the working visit to be made by the Minister of Industry and Trade. Therefore, this letter is a fake and has been issued solely for personal gain. (2) Companies receiving the letter, as referred to above, under the same number and date, and signed by "Muchtar", in his capacity as secretary-general of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, should take no heed of this letter. (3) Please contact the secretariat general of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, by telephone: 5250954 or by fax: 5250906 in case you receive a similar letter.
