Beware of fake KAI recruitment scams on social media
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta has urged the public to heighten their vigilance amid the proliferation of scams disguised as KAI recruitment, with the latest instances spreading via the social media platform TikTok.
“KAI never conducts recruitment through unofficial social media accounts, including TikTok. Information circulating from such accounts can be assuredly confirmed as not originating from KAI,” stated Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He emphasised that all official recruitment processes are carried out exclusively via the website e-recruitment.kai.id and the company’s official social media platforms. Outside of these channels, the public should not trust any information provided.
Franoto noted that KAI has identified TikTok accounts falsely claiming to represent BUMN/KAI recruitment and disseminating unverifiable job vacancy details.
Among the tactics observed are the distribution of job information through unofficial social media accounts, directing prospective applicants to specific numbers or contacts, demands for payments under pretexts such as administration or selection fees, and promises of acceptance without transparent procedures.
He further reminded that KAI never collects any fees in any form, does not collaborate with travel agents or third parties, does not mandate the use of specific hotels or transportation, and does not guarantee instant acceptance.
“We urge the public to always verify information and not be easily swayed by offers claiming to be from KAI. Do not become victims of scams,” said Franoto.
If the public encounters suspicious information, they can promptly confirm via KAI’s Contact Center at 121, WhatsApp 08111-2111-121, email cs@kai.id, or other official KAI channels.
