Beware of bogus president director

The community must beware of the scams that have been
committed recently. A number of branches of Berdikari Insurance
recently had this experience on Jan. 29 and Feb. 6.

Our Denpasar branch office received a telephone call from
someone claiming to be the president director from the head
office, saying that an impromptu inspection would be conducted,
along with some officials of the finance ministry. The man also
gave an instruction that all the funds in the accounts kept in
this branch office should be made ready for the inspection. A
while later he telephoned again and give a bank account number
and two cell phone numbers, i.e. 0818570351/0818570354.

On the same day, our branch offices in Medan, Padang and
Lhokseumawe reported the same thing. The branch office in Medan
got the name of Isnur Hariyanto, Lippo Bank branch office of
Kelapa Gading Jakarta, Account No. 520-10-8029309. The branch
office in Lhokseumawe got the name of Darwin Noor, Bank BNI
Rawamangun branch office, Account No. 243.00400.5476.901.

Then on Feb. 6, this man, using a slightly different modus
operandi, did the same to our branch offices in Batam,
Balikpapan, Bandung, Semarang and Kupang.

What was surprising to us was that this man seemed to know
very well that our president director was then out of town or
abroad.

So, other companies with branch offices across the country
should beware of this kind of scam.
