Bisnis.com, Jakarta — PT Berkat Elektrik Sejati Tangguh (BEST), owner of the BESTLIFE household electronics brand, has officially commenced construction of an air conditioning and washing machine production facility with a US$10 million investment at Millennium Industrial Estate in Tangerang.
The investment represents a strategic move by PT BEST to expand domestic manufacturing capacity and bolster the local electronics industry amid rising domestic demand and growth in Indonesia’s manufacturing sector.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday, 25 May 2026, attended by Darmadi Durianto, a member of the House of Representatives’ Commission VI; Franciska Simanjuntak, Director of Trade Business Development at the Ministry of Trade; Achmad Wijaya, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin); Henry Sofian, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Refrigeration and Cooling Association; industry players, associations, business partners, and national dealers.
Phase one will see PT BEST construct a production facility on approximately 1.5 hectares of land, dedicated to manufacturing air conditioners and washing machines with modern quality standards and integrated manufacturing efficiency.
All investment for the factory construction comes from PT BEST as a domestic investment (PMDN) company, demonstrating the national firm’s commitment to strengthening domestic industry and reducing reliance on imported products.
PT BEST Director Andy Arif Widjaja stated that the production facility construction is part of the company’s long-term strategy to build a robust, sustainable industrial foundation capable of competing at national and regional levels.
‘We see Indonesia as having immense potential as a base for electronics industry growth. Through this investment, PT BEST aims to make tangible contributions not only through products but also through technology development, human resources, and the national industrial ecosystem,’ said Andy Arif Widjaja in a statement.
Beyond increasing production capacity, PT BEST’s industrial zone will also be developed into a technology and industry competence hub, featuring an R&D centre for product development and technological innovation.
Additionally, a Training Centre will be established for developing technicians and skilled workers, along with a Competency Testing Centre (TUK) integrated with the National Occupational Standard (LSP) to support the enhancement of national industrial human resources quality.
This step aligns with PT BEST’s vision to build an industry focused not just on production, but also on improving workforce quality and strengthening national industrial competitiveness.
Under the theme ‘Building Indonesia Together’, PT BEST reaffirmed its commitment to grow alongside the government, communities, workers, and business partners to foster sustainable economic growth and bolster Indonesia’s position as a regional industrial power.
As part of the event series, PT BEST hosted an appreciation and networking evening with national dealers and business partners, while introducing its new brand, AUXINDO, which will be part of PT BEST’s business expansion strategy in Indonesia’s electronics industry.
According to him, the event also showcased PT BEST’s continued expansion through strengthening distribution networks, enhancing after-sales services, and developing products tailored to Indonesia’s market needs.
PT BEST also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Trade, local governments, all business partners, contractors, suppliers, dealers, and all parties who supported the commencement of the production facility construction.
‘Through this factory construction, PT BEST is confident it can further strengthen its position as a trusted, innovative national company with a long-term commitment to the advancement of Indonesia’s electronics industry,’ he said.
