Bestari Barus: Jokowi is Already with PSI, Will Win the 2029 Election

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the PSI Central Executive Board, Bestari Barus, stated that the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has already become part of PSI.

Bestari mentioned that the announcement of Jokowi’s position in PSI is merely awaiting the appropriate time. Certainly, Jokowi is now PSI’s political patron.

“Mr Jokowi is already with PSI like that. So that’s one thing, he will be with us, and we have already designated him as the political patron of PSI’s future struggles. It’s just a matter of waiting for the right time, considering his health,” Bestari told Kompas.com on Thursday (14/5/2026).

According to him, it will not be long before Jokowi accompanies PSI in fulfilling his promise from January.

“He has said, ‘I am still strong enough to go down to the districts and cities, even to the sub-districts if needed’. That really builds spirit, it ignites the enthusiasm of all comrades to quickly prepare to welcome Mr Jokowi’s presence,” he emphasised.

Because, he said, PSI is preparing that as a surprise.

“And it increasingly convinces the public that Mr Jokowi is no longer anywhere else, and is with PSI starting to join PSI for victory in the 2029 elections, of course,” Bestari added.
