Best songs by the blind

JAKARTA (JP): The Association of Indonesian Blind People has picked out 12 best songs from a national song writing competition for the blind.

The songs were selected from 202 songs which were submitted by a total of 99 blind composers from 13 provinces.

The 12 songs include Air Mata Tak Membuat Luluh Jiwaku (Tear drops do not hurt my soul) written by Farida Sangun, Mungkinkah Bersatu (Can we be united?) by I Made Kandre, Bayangan Masa Lalu (The past imagination) by Suprapto and Suara Hati (Conscience) by FX Aries Febriyanto.

Antara news agency reported the prize presentation will be held on Dec. 8 at a concert by people with multiple disabilities in commemoration of Disabled Day.

The competition was held in a bid to help explore the potential talent of blind people to enable them to improve their welfare. (yns)
