Best bridge pair invited by Israel

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's best pair of Eddy Manoppo and Henky
Lasut have received an invitation to play in the Israel Bridge
Festival in Tel Aviv, scheduled for Feb. 15 to Feb. 24.

Eduard Possumah, executive chairman of the North Sulawesi
sports governing body said yesterday that the nation's most
seasoned tandem will lead a six-strong bridge team who will don
their provincial colors for the international tournament.

"We are now waiting for recommendation from the Indonesian
Contract Bridge Association in Jakarta," Possumah told Antara.

Eddy and Henky sprang a surprise performance when they
finished second in the Volmac Cup Invitational in The Hague, the
Netherlands last week. Only the world's top 16 pairs are eligible
to play in the invitational tournament. (amd)
