Best Asia-Pacific ads seen at BBY
YOGYAKARTA: In order to provide food for thought for the advertising community in the province, some of the best ads in the Asia-Pacific area are being exhibited at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta (BBY) until Nov. 28, 2004.
Jointly organized by the Association of Indonesian Advertising Companies (PPPI), Kompas Daily, ARMA Gallery Ubud-Bali and Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, the exhibition will feature more than 200 ads. All are works that received commendations during the recent Asia-Pacific Advertising Festival (Adfest).
"Besides pictures, we are also exhibiting audiovisual ads that spectators can enjoy during the exhibition," said organizing committee chairman Totok Pujiyanto, adding that the exhibition was being held to provide domestic advertising companies with some good examples from which to learn.
"Compared with most ads here, which are mainly very verbose and long-winded, the exhibited ads invite spectators to use their own imagination to get the message. So, it's an opportunity to learn from them," he said. -- JP
