Besides Soetta, Pondok Cabe and Budiarto Airports Also Reopen

A number of airports have resumed operations after being closed due to volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau. Most recently, Pondok Cabe Airport and Budiarto Airport were declared open again.

The announcement was made on the official Instagram account of the Class I Main Airport Authority Office Region I, seen on Tuesday (8/9/2026). The announcement included a list of five airports in the Otban I region.

The five airports on the list were Radin Inten II Airport, M Taufik Kiemas Airport, Salakanagara Airport, Budiarto Airport and Pondok Cabe Airport. The latter two were marked in green as operating again from 02.25 WIB.

The other three airports were declared still closed until 10.00 WIB.

Previously, three airports were declared operational again today at 00.00 WIB. The three airports were Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta), Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and Husein Sastranegara Airport.

“In connection with the current eruption conditions of Mount Anak Krakatau, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is resuming flight operations,” read a statement in a post on Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s official Instagram account, seen in the early hours of Tuesday (8/9).

Airport authorities urged all airport users to recheck flight statuses and schedules, referring to official sources.

“We urge all airport users to recheck flight statuses and schedules through official airline channels before travelling, and for airport information please contact the InJourney Airports Contact Centre on 172,” it said.
