Besides SBY, Jokowi and JK, here is the list of national figures who attended Prabowo's invitation
President Prabowo Subianto hosted a large gathering by inviting former Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday evening (3/3). The gathering is an important moment in strengthening ties among national figures.
According to Antara, the arrival of the honoured guests was greeted by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at the right-hand entrance of the Merdeka Palace. A warm atmosphere enveloped the reception of the leaders who had previously led Indonesia.
The arrivals began with the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents, Jusuf Kalla, arriving at about 7:00 pm. Shortly thereafter, the 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin followed at 7:10 pm.
The incumbent Vice President, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, wearing a brown batik, arrived at around 7:15 pm.
The 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), arrived at the Merdeka Palace at 7:20 pm. Wearing a brown batik and a black kopiah, Jokowi waved to reporters before entering the room.
Jokowi’s arrival was followed by the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), who arrived at 7:24 pm.
Interestingly, SBY’s arrival, in a blue-toned shirt, was greeted directly by President Prabowo Subianto. The two appeared to chat amicably before walking in together into the Merdeka Palace.
Finally, the 11th Vice President Boediono completed the attendance at 7:27 pm.
Sekretaris Kabinet Teddy Indra Wijaya said that President Prabowo deliberately invited former national leaders and political figures to discuss and exchange views on strategic issues facing the nation. “Tonight the President directly invited all former presidents and vice presidents, former foreign ministers, including party leaders in Parliament. The President wants to exchange views with these figures,” Teddy told Antara, on Tuesday (3/3).
In addition to former presidents, the meeting was attended by senior party leaders, including Golkar Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh, Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and PDI Perjuangan DPP Chair Puan Maharani.
This cross-generational gathering is expected to provide constructive input for the Prabowo-Gibran administration in steering government in 2026.
Teddy explained that one topic to be discussed with the figures is the current global geopolitical situation.
The 7th President Jokowi also extended condolences on the death of the 6th Vice President General (Ret.) Try Sutrisno.
Jokowi commented on the constitutional challenge to Article 169 of Law No. 7/2017 on General Elections, filed by two lawyers.
