Bengkulu Wins Award from Ministry of Home Affairs in Inflation Control Category
The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has awarded prizes to outstanding local governments in the inflation control category. Bengkulu has emerged as the top province in inflation control for 2026.
The award was presented at the Appreciation for Outstanding Local Governments 2026 event, a collaboration between detikcom and Kemendagri, held in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Saturday (25/4/2026). The category award was handed over directly by Interior Minister Tito Karnavian.
This category evaluates local governments’ work in consistently and measurably controlling inflation. The assessment covers the stability of food inflation rates, compliance with reporting, and budget support for inflation control programmes.
Furthermore, the effectiveness of various inflation control efforts is a key indicator in safeguarding public purchasing power. Awards are given at three levels: districts, cities, and provinces. Here is the list of winners:
District level
Tebo District: Rp3 billion
North Musi Rawas District: Rp2 billion
North Labuhanbatu District: Rp1 billion
City level
Langsa City: Rp3 billion
Prabumulih City: Rp2 billion
Bukittinggi City: Rp1 billion
Best province level
- Bengkulu: Rp3 billion
Kemendagri awards each winner accordingly. At the district/city level, the first-place winner receives Rp3 billion, second place Rp2 billion, and third place Rp1 billion.
Meanwhile, the best province receives an award of Rp3 billion. It is known that Bengkulu also received an award as the best province in the category of reducing unemployment rates.
This activity is part of the central government’s efforts to encourage improved regional performance through fiscal incentives. The policy refers to Law Number 1 of 2022 on Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments, which allows performance-based awards.
In addition, the implementation of this programme is strengthened by regulations on regional financial management as stipulated in Government Regulation Number 12 of 2019.
In this event, several provincial, district, and city-level local governments in Sumatra will receive appreciation in four main categories: Inflation Control, Reduction in Unemployment Rates, Poverty Alleviation and Stunting Reduction, and Entrepreneur Government/Creative Financing.
The event in Palembang, South Sumatra, serves as the opening for a series of national activities to be held across six islands in Indonesia.
In addition to the award ceremony, the event will feature the National Accelerator Forum, a collaborative platform bringing together the central government, local governments, business actors, investors, MSMEs, academics, and the general public in one dialogue and action forum.
The Appreciation for Outstanding Local Governments 2026 and National Accelerator Forum will feature detikcom’s Editor-in-Chief Alfito Deannova Gintings as moderator.
The event is also attended by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). All regional heads in Sumatra, from governors, regents, to mayors, are also present.
