Bengkulu Receives 1,299 Units of Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance

Bengkulu (ANTARA) - The province of Bengkulu has received a quota of Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) for the third phase of the 2026 fiscal year, amounting to 1,299 units, to accelerate the provision of decent housing for the community. “Alhamdulillah, Bengkulu has once again received an additional BSPS quota. This is a significant form of attention from the central government, particularly from the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), towards the people of Bengkulu who need decent housing,” said Governor of Bengkulu Helmi Hasan in Bengkulu on Wednesday. The additional quota was obtained after Helmi Hasan met with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait in Jakarta on Monday (6/4). The meeting discussed the central government’s support for housing programmes in the regions. Helmi stated that the additional BSPS quota is good news for the people of Bengkulu, especially since in this third phase, all districts and cities have received assistance allocations. He emphasised that district and city governments must oversee the data collection process for potential beneficiaries to ensure it is on target in line with the “Help the People” programme promoted by the Provincial Government of Bengkulu. “We encourage all districts and cities to oversee this process to ensure it is on target. If there is invalid data, it should be immediately corrected so that the quota is maximally absorbed and the benefits are felt by the community,” he said. Meanwhile, the Head of the Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land Office of Bengkulu Province, Irsan Setiawan, stated that the total allocation for the third phase has increased from the previous 1,172 units to 1,299 units. He explained that the addition includes allocations for South Bengkulu Regency of 100 units, Central Bengkulu 25 units, and Lebong Regency receiving an additional two units. Irsan said that in the previous phase, South Bengkulu and Central Bengkulu had not received quotas, but in the third phase, all regions in Bengkulu Province have received BSPS allocations.
