Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office Again Names Two Suspects in Musi Hydroelectric Plant Corruption Case

The Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejaksaan Tinggi Bengkulu) investigation team of the Special Crimes Investigation (Pidsus) has once again named two suspects: Vincentius Fanny Janu Fidianto as Manager of the Sub-division of Engineering, UIK SBS, and Jamot Jingles Sitanggang as Engineering staff for Generation UIK Sumbagsel, in the case of alleged corruption in the replacement of the main control system (SKU) of the Musi Hydroelectric Plant in Bengkulu Province by PLN Bengkulu’s Unit Pelaksana Pengendalian Pembangkitan Bengkulu, the Bengkulu Generation Control Implementation Unit of PLN Indonesia Power’s Sumatra South Generation Unit, or PT PLN Indonesia Power 2022–2023. ‘Additionally, in the alleged corruption over the replacement of the AVR system for the Musi Hydroelectric Plant in Bengkulu Province by the Bengkulu Generation Control Implementation Unit of PLN Indonesia Power’s Sumatra South Generation Unit, 2022–2023,’ said acting head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office, Denni Agustian, in Bengkulu city early Wednesday. He explained that from the sequence of actions by both, investigators found facts leading to the designation of the two as suspects, FV and JJ. The modus operandi allegedly involved collaboration with other parties to obtain price references for the SKU from PT Yokagawa Indonesia totalling Rp32.63 billion including 11% VAT. The estimated price in the planning stage then became the engineering estimate price and the actual price used in the contract negotiations between PLN (Persero) and KSO Citra Wahana or PT Citra Wahana Sekar Buana and PT Hensan Andalas Putera for the SKU equipment totaling Rp32.07 billion. Denni explained that this price represents a profit from a markup exceeding 10% as set by certain parties, whereas the actual selling price of the SKU equipment from those two companies was only Rp17.23 billion. Previously, the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office had named six other individuals as suspects in the case involving the replacement of the main control system (SKU) and the AVR system for the Musi Hydroelectric Plant in 2022–2023. Subsequently, the directors of PT Austindo Prima Daya Abadi, Nehemia Indrajaya; director of PT Truba Engineering Indonesia, and Vice President O And M Planning and Control at PT PLN Indonesia Power, Daryanto.
