Bengkulu needs promotion
BENGKULU, Bengkulu: Vice President Try Sutrisno advised the provincial government yesterday to promote tourism because the area has many tourist destinations unknown to national and international holidaymakers.
"Bengkulu is rich in historical sites such as the late president Sukarno's residence, Marlborough Castle and Panjang Beach, which can be turned into tourist attractions," he said while briefing local government officials.
He said Bengkulu has tremendous potential for its natural resources, which have yet to be exploited, to help speed up its economic development, Antara reported.
Try is on a two-day tour in the province where he is scheduled to inaugurate a number of development projects. (pan)
