Bengkulu City Government Monitors Health of Hajj Pilgrims Upon Arrival

The Bengkulu City Government, in Bengkulu Province, is conducting regular monitoring of the health conditions of Hajj pilgrims following their return from the Holy Land. This monitoring is being carried out to anticipate various health complaints that pilgrims may experience after undertaking the long journey from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia.

“We have prepared all the community health centres (Puskesmas) that were previously involved in health screenings during the departure period to provide health monitoring services once the pilgrims return to their home regions,” said the Head of the Bengkulu City Health Office, Nelly Hartati, in Bengkulu on Monday.

To this end, the office has stationed personnel across all health centres to provide monitoring services. These healthcare workers will monitor the pilgrims’ conditions and identify any health issues that may arise following the completion of the Hajj pilgrimage.

She added that the health monitoring of Hajj pilgrims is a routine activity conducted annually as part of the Hajj healthcare services. This is due to the fact that pilgrims have just completed a series of intensive rituals that are physically demanding, compounded by a long-distance journey that can affect physical well-being.

Furthermore, the Health Office has urged all Hajj pilgrims from Bengkulu City to immediately visit health facilities if they experience any health disturbances upon arriving home. Early examination is considered vital to prevent more serious conditions and to ensure an optimal recovery process.

“This has become a routine activity for the health team in anticipating various health complaints experienced by Hajj pilgrims. We hope all pilgrims maintain their health and can return to their normal activities effectively after performing the Hajj pilgrimage,” Nelly stated.
