Bengkulu City Government Distributes Packed Meals to Flood Victims
Bengkulu City Government in Bengkulu Province has distributed thousands of packed meals to residents affected by flooding in several areas following the floods that occurred since Monday (6/4). The distribution of packed meals was carried out by all regional apparatus organisations (OPD) within the Bengkulu City Government on a rotational basis to ease the burden on flood-affected communities. “We hope this packed meal assistance helps. Especially since many of their homes are still submerged. Residents are certainly having difficulty cooking or preparing their own meals. That’s why we are present among them,” said Acting Secretary of the Regional Secretariat (Sekda) of Bengkulu City, Medy Pebriansyah, in Bengkulu on Thursday. The distribution of packed meal aid was carried out in accordance with instructions from the Mayor of Bengkulu, Dedy Wahyudi, together with Deputy Mayor Ronny, to ensure that the basic needs of residents, particularly food, are met while the floods have not subsided. “This assistance is a manifestation of the Bengkulu City Government’s empathy and concern for the communities affected by the flood disaster. We are saddened and caring, therefore we will always be present in the midst of this calamity,” he said. Therefore, the Bengkulu City Government ensures that it will continue to strive to provide assistance and support to residents until conditions return to normal. Previously, the Bengkulu City Government recorded that heavy rain since Sunday night (5/4) caused 2,688 family heads (KK) in the area to be affected by flooding. In Muara Bangkahulu Subdistrict, namely Rawa Makmur Village 41 KK, Rawa Makmur Permai Village 185 KK, Pematang Gubernur Village 173 KK. Ratu Agung Subdistrict became one of the areas with significant impact, namely Tanah Patah Village with 238 KK, Tebeng Village reaching 745 KK, Sawah Lebar Baru Village 80 KK. In Ratu Samban Subdistrict, such as Anggut Atas Village 29 KK, Belakang Pondok Village 95 KK, Penurunan Village 84 KK, Anggut Bawah Village three KK, and Kebun Dahri Village 44 KK. In Sungai Serut Subdistrict, such as Tanjung Agung Village 281 KK or 895 people affected, Sukamerindu Village 147 KK, Surabaya Village 125 KK, Pasar Bengkulu Village 19 KK or 75 people, Semarang Village 49 KK, and Kampung Kelawi Village five KK or 20 people. Then in Selebar Subdistrict, Pagar Dewa Village was affected by 57 KK, while in Kampung Melayu Subdistrict, Muara Dua Village had 50 adult residents and five toddlers affected, and in Gading Cempaka Subdistrict, Lingkar Barat Village recorded 60 houses affected, as well as Jalan Gedang Village with 20 KK.
