Bengkulu Case: KPK Seizes Documents After Searching 3 Locations Over 3 Days

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a number of documents after searching three locations from 5 to 7 August 2026, as part of an investigation into an alleged corruption case involving state officials within the Bengkulu City Government. “From the search results, investigators seized documents and electronic items suspected to be related to the case,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Sunday. He revealed that the searched locations included the private residence of Bengkulu City DPRD Secretary Syofyan Tosoni and the home of former Acting Mayor of Bengkulu Arif Gunadi, who currently serves as Head of the Bengkulu Province Food Security Agency. Both locations are in the Bengkulu area. The case is an extension of a KPK sting operation related to alleged bribery in projects within the Rejang Lebong Regency Government, Bengkulu. On 11 March 2026, the KPK named five suspects: Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari; Head of the Rejang Lebong Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency Hary Eko Purnomo; Irsyad Satria Budiman from PT Statika Mitra Sarana; Edi Manggala from CV Manggala Utama; and Youki Yusdiantoro from CV Alpagker Abadi. The five suspects are alleged to have been involved in bribery practices related to project brokering within the Rejang Lebong Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. On 26 July 2026, the KPK searched several locations in Bengkulu City, including the office and home of a private party engaged in medical devices and waste management, as well as the home of the Head of the Bengkulu City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, Noprisman. From that search, the KPK seized evidence in the form of Rp4 billion in cash at Noprisman’s residence. The KPK stated that the search was related to the investigation of alleged corruption involving state officials within the Bengkulu City Government.
