Bengkayang Finalises Preparations for Integrated National School Construction
The Bengkayang Regency Government, West Kalimantan, is continuing to mature its preparations for the construction of the Integrated National School (SNT), after being designated as one of the priority regions to receive the programme in 2026.
The Head of the Bengkayang Regency Education and Culture Office, Heru Pujiono, stated in Bengkayang on Sunday that the construction of the SNT is a form of synergy between the central and regional governments to realise the improvement of human resource quality through high-quality and equitable education.
“This Integrated National School programme is a form of synergy between the centre and the regions in achieving human resource quality through quality education for all. We in the region certainly welcome this and continue to prepare ourselves so that all necessary requirements can be met,” he said.
According to Heru, the Bengkayang Regency Government team is currently working on various preparations to support the smooth construction of the school. The location planned for the SNT construction is in the Malosa area, Sebalo Village.
He noted that in the near future, the local government will also hold coordination meetings with all relevant regional apparatus organisations (OPD) to ensure the readiness of documents and other technical support.
“The regency team continues to prepare itself. We ask for the prayers and support of all parties so that this construction plan can run smoothly and bring blessings to the world of education in Bengkayang,” said Heru.
Previously, a Coordination Meeting for Regional Leadership Commitment regarding the Integrated National School Construction Plan was held by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in Tangerang on Thursday (11/6).
“This activity is a follow-up to the results of the assessment and field verification of the proposed SNT implementation locations submitted by the regional government,” said Herly.
Based on the results of that assessment, Bengkayang Regency has been established as one of the priority locations for the implementation of the SNT in 2026. Out of all regencies and cities in West Kalimantan, only two regions received the programme: Bengkayang Regency and Sambas Regency.
Heru explained that the coordination meeting discussed the readiness of each region as well as various requirements that must be fulfilled before the official designation of locations by the central government.
Furthermore, the central government is currently processing a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) regarding the acceleration of the Integrated National School construction, which will later serve as the basis for programme implementation in various regions.
“We are optimistic that this programme will have a significant impact on improving the quality of education in Bengkayang. The presence of the SNT is expected to become an educational centre capable of producing a superior, characterised, and competitive generation,” he said.
He added that all technical OPDs within the Bengkayang Regency Government are currently working simultaneously to meet the target of completing documents by the fourth week of July 2026, so that the construction process can proceed according to the established schedule.
Through the construction of the Integrated National School, he hopes that equitable access to quality education will increase, while simultaneously strengthening human resource development efforts, which is one of the regional development priorities.
