Bengkalis to hire KL teachers

PEKANBARU: Bengkalis regency in Riau province plans to hire
Malaysian teachers, especially to teach exact sciences and
English, with the aim of encouraging local teachers to emulate
how their Malaysian counterparts work.

Bengkalis Regent Syamsurizal said that the hiring of Malaysian
teachers was aimed at the transfer of knowledge and to further
stimulate the spirit to work among teachers in Bengkalis.

He explained that the plan had received a positive response
from Malaysian teachers, as could be seen from the many
applications received.

"We intend to hire only three to four teachers, but the number
of applications has reached over 20," he said in Pekanbaru on
Tuesday.

Applicants have been asked to undergo tests at the Indonesian
Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, but there has been no decision yet on
who met the set criteria, he added. -- Antara
