The Water and Air Police unit of the Bengkalis Police visited communities in the coastal village of Muntai, Bantan sub-district. The police provided school supplies through the ‘Jalur’ (meaning ‘route’ or ‘path’) programme, which is part of the ‘Jelajah Riau untuk Rakyat’ (Exploring Riau for the People) initiative.

Bengkalis Police Chief, AKBP Fahrian Saleh Siregar, stated that ‘Jalur’ is a flagship programme of the Riau Police Chief, Irjen Pol Herry Heryawan, designed to reach communities in coastal areas. This ‘Sambang Nusa Presisi’ (Precise National Outreach) activity also reflects the Polri’s (Indonesian National Police) concern for the community.

“This ‘Jalur’ programme is not just a ceremonial event, but a real effort by the Polri to improve access to education and literacy for children in coastal areas,” said Fahrian in a statement on Thursday (26 February 2026).

The activity was led by the Head of the Water and Air Police unit of the Bengkalis Police, AKP Daniel, along with several personnel. The police distributed school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, erasers, rulers, and sharpeners. In addition to providing assistance, personnel also motivated the children to stay enthusiastic about learning and achieving their dreams.

“Through this activity, we want to ensure that the presence of the Polri is truly felt and beneficial to the community, especially children in coastal areas. Education is an investment in the future of the nation,” he said.

Local residents expressed their appreciation for the Polri’s concern. They hope that this programme will ease the burden on the community.

With the spirit of ‘Presisi’ (Precision), the Water and Air Police unit of the Bengkalis Police is committed to continuing to be present in the community, not only maintaining the security of waterways but also making a real contribution to supporting the welfare and improving the quality of education for coastal communities.
