Bengkalis Customs Office Distributes Grant of 60 Rolls of BMMN Carpets to Pesantren and Orphanages
BENGKALIS - The Bengkalis Customs Office distributed a grant of state-owned goods (BMMN) consisting of 60 rolls of carpets to educational and social institutions in Bengkalis Regency on Thursday (12/3/2026). This distribution represents an act of social concern as well as the implementation of the Customs Office’s function as a community protector, which goes beyond supervision to provide tangible benefits to society.
The grant was handed over by the Head of the Bengkalis Customs Office, Novryansyah, to three recipient institutions: Pondok Modern Nurul Hidayah in Pasiran Village, Pondok Pesantren Nurussalam in Mentayan Village, and Panti Asuhan Dayang Dermah in Senggoro Village.
Of the total carpets granted, 21 rolls were given to Pondok Modern Nurul Hidayah, 20 rolls to Pondok Pesantren Nurussalam, and 19 rolls to Panti Asuhan Dayang Dermah.
Novryansyah explained that the carpets were items from customs enforcement actions whose legal status has been determined as BMMN and have undergone administrative processes, allowing them to be utilised through the grant mechanism. According to him, utilising seized goods for social purposes is one form of the Customs Office’s contribution to society.
“The presence of the Customs Office is not limited to supervisory functions and state revenue collection, but it must also be able to provide real benefits to society,” he stated.
The grant distribution was welcomed by the beneficiaries. The leader of Pondok Pesantren Nurussalam, Kyai Muhammad Nizar, expressed that the carpet assistance helps support the activities of the students. With this aid, the pesantren’s hall and mosque facilities now have adequate flooring to support religious and educational activities.
Novryansyah noted that the handover was attended by officials from the Bengkalis Customs Office as a demonstration of transparency and accountability in managing state-owned goods from enforcement actions.
“Through this activity, the Bengkalis Customs Office hopes that the utilisation of BMMN can provide broader benefits to society and support social and educational activities in the Bengkalis region,” he said.
