Beng Seng murder case goes to trial
JAKARTA (JP): The North Jakarta district court yesterday began
the trial of two suspects accused of killing entertainment
businessman Nyo Beng Seng, despite the absence of five other
suspects who are still at large.
Presiding judge James Pardede told the panel of judges that
Sudartono, 40, and Agiono, 36, along with their five friends,
killed Nyo Beng Seng, alias Darmansyah Suyadi, at his house on
Jl. Pluit Kencana Raya 128 in Pluit at 1:30 a.m. on April 15,
1994.
After a brutal stabbing, Beng Seng died later at a nearby
hospital.
The five fugitives, identified as Ahak, Barky, Agus, Yudi and
Pramono, and the two suspects in custody, may have been hired by
someone called Hong Lie to carry out the killing.
The trial was adjourned until Thursday. (bsr)
