Bener Meriah Residents Cheer 'Long Live Prabowo' as Task Force Secures Enang-Enang Bridge Completion

Residents of Kampung Arul Cincin, Pintu Rime Gayo District, Bener Meriah Regency, have expressed their appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto after the government confirmed permanent handling of the Enang-Enang Bridge. The bridge serves as the main access route for the village’s 668 residents. Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian visited the location on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, to provide certainty regarding the infrastructure that the community has long depended on as their primary connecting route. A community representative, Sahrial, stated that the government’s presence demonstrates that public interest is a priority. ‘The government is working here for the people’s interest, not for anyone else’s,’ Sahrial said while seated alongside PRR Task Force Head Tito Karnavian during a community meeting. Tito outlined three steps agreed upon by the government for handling the area. First, widening and repairing the alternative road via Simpang Werlah, to be carried out by the Aceh National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN). Second, constructing a new permanent bridge as a long-term solution. Third, reinforcing the structure of the Enang-Enang Bridge so it can remain functional on a limited basis during the transition period. ‘The government has disbursed up to Rp 100 billion for this,’ Tito stated. Sahrial’s face lit up upon hearing the decision. ‘The Werlah to Simpang Lancang road will be widened to six metres, then asphalted, and two bridges will also be built. The value is almost Rp 100 billion. Alhamdulillah,’ Sahrial emphasised, urging all residents of Kampung Arul Cincin to take note. Tito further explained that his swift arrival with three decisions was a follow-up to the President’s directive. ‘We came here on the orders of Mr Prabowo. I was called directly by the Cabinet Secretary, Mr Teddy (Indra Wijaya), to resolve this issue,’ the Home Affairs Minister said. Tito also commended the community for their mutual cooperation in building a makeshift bridge to keep activities running. However, he stressed that the government is obliged to perfect the infrastructure to make it stronger, safer, and usable in the long term. ‘It is not that the government does not care. The bridge made by the community has been tidied up, but it needs to be perfected. The existing structure has some strength, but it will be maximised further for the safety of the residents crossing it,’ he said. The certainty of the handling was welcomed enthusiastically by the residents attending the dialogue. At the end of the event, Sahrial kissed Tito’s hand, and the villagers repeatedly cheered, ‘Long live Prabowo!’
