Beneficiary acknowledges government's Home Renovation programme is beneficial

Beneficiary of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) programme, Thelma Humena from Manado, North Sulawesi, has acknowledged that the government’s BSPS or Home Renovation programme is very beneficial. “In terms of benefits, it is very, very beneficial and also very good for my family,” Thelma said in Jakarta on Friday. She added that after the renovation or home improvement, her house has become comfortable and safe compared to its previous condition. “Initially, the Balai (Housing and Settlement Area Provision Implementation Centre/P3KP) came to my house with the neighbourhood head, informing me that I had received self-help housing assistance,” she said. Thelma also admitted that she was happy and proud to be able to attend the 2026 Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPD and DPR at the MPR/DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta. “I was told I would be going. Automatically, I was very happy and proud, and also surprised; I didn’t expect I could come here,” she said. She hopes the BSPS programme can be experienced by all Indonesians. “My hope is that I am not the only one who can benefit from the President’s programme. I hope all Indonesian people can experience this programme,” she said. President Prabowo Subianto delivered a state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPD and DPR at the MPR/DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday. Prabowo began his speech by greeting several state officials in attendance, including the 7th President Joko Widodo, the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, the 11th Vice President Boediono, the 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, the wife of the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid, Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, Speaker of the DPR Puan Maharani, Speaker of the MPR Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the DPD Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, as well as political party leaders and ambassadors from friendly nations. In his speech, Prabowo conveyed a number of points regarding the implementation of his administration over the 21 months since he took the oath as President of the Republic of Indonesia on 20 October 2024. The President stated that some of the issues addressed through policies issued by his administration are problems that have persisted for decades and remained unresolved. Prabowo noted that these achievements demonstrate that problems previously considered complicated can begin to be resolved through the courage to make decisions, hard work, clear intent, and mutual cooperation among all elements of the nation.
