BEM and Rohis UBSI Tegal Campus Distribute Aid to Landslide Victims in Padasari Village
The Student Executive Board (BEM) together with the Islamic Spiritual Activities Unit (Rohis) of Bina Sarana Informatika University (UBSI) Tegal campus, functioning as a Digital Creative Campus, distributed logistical aid and cash assistance to residents affected by a landslide disaster in Padasari Village on Monday, 9 March 2026. This activity represents a demonstration of student concern and humanitarian action towards communities facing the impacts of natural disaster.
BEM Chairman of UBSI Tegal campus, Andika Akmal Maulana, stated that the aid distributed was the result of fundraising efforts conducted by students on 27 February 2026 and 1 March 2026. Through these activities, students successfully collected Rp 5.67 million in funds, which was subsequently divided into two forms of assistance: logistical aid and cash support for affected residents.
“Part of the funds was used to purchase various logistical necessities totalling Rp 3.569 million. The assistance includes foodstuffs, spices, snacks, medicines, and various other daily necessities required by communities at the affected location. Meanwhile, cash assistance totalling Rp 2.101 million was also distributed to residents as a form of additional support in meeting urgent needs,” stated Andika.
Andika noted that the distribution of aid was carried out directly to affected residents in coordination with the Padasari Village administration to ensure accurate targeting. Beyond distributing aid, the students also took the opportunity to engage in dialogue with residents and provide moral support to communities facing difficult circumstances due to the disaster.
Andika also noted that the aid distribution process proceeded smoothly and received a positive response from residents of Padasari Village affected by the landslide.
“This humanitarian action simultaneously demonstrates that students play a role not only in the academic sphere, but are also actively contributing to social and community activities,” he said.
Vice Chairman of BEM UBSI Tegal campus, Vivi Dwi Apriliani, stated that this activity is part of students’ commitment to be present and contribute in assisting communities, particularly in emergency situations such as natural disasters.
“Through this activity we hope that the aid provided can help alleviate the needs of affected communities. This also represents a tangible expression of student concern for social conditions in our surrounding environment,” said Vivi.
Through collaboration between BEM and the Islamic Spiritual Activities Unit, this activity is expected to foster a spirit of concern, solidarity, and humanitarian values amongst both students and the wider community.
