The Hajj and Umrah Ministry Office (Kemenhaj) in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, has reminded 42 local pilgrims to get plenty of rest at home after completing the long series of Hajj rituals in the Holy Land. “We remind the pilgrims to rest more at home after carrying out the lengthy and exhausting series of Hajj rituals in the Holy Land,” said Acting Head of the Belitung Kemenhaj Office, Fitriatun, in Tanjungpandan on Saturday. She asked the pilgrims in the area to maintain their health condition in accordance with the medical team’s recommendations. She stated that this physical recovery period is important for the pilgrims after performing the energy-draining Hajj rituals. “We urge all Belitung pilgrims who have just returned from performing the Hajj to rest at home first. Do not immediately engage in strenuous activities,” she said. Pilgrims are also advised to maintain their diet by consuming healthy and highly nutritious food to restore their body’s immunity. For pilgrims with a history of certain illnesses who are undergoing treatment, Fitriatun requested that they continue taking their medication regularly according to the dosage and doctor’s instructions. “Taking medication as prescribed by the doctor is very important so that their health condition remains stable and controlled,” she stated. She also asked the pilgrims’ families to actively monitor the health condition of their relatives who have just returned from the Hajj. If symptoms of fever or other health problems are found in the coming days, she expects the pilgrims to be taken to the community health centre (puskesmas) immediately. “If a fever occurs, please go directly to the puskesmas for early medical examination and do not delay,” she said.
