Belida Asri Movement: OKU Police Repair Potholes Alongside Residents
The South Sumatra Regional Police, through the Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Resort Police, has organised a mutual cooperation initiative to patch potholes. This social action with the community took place on the main road of Batumarta II Village, Lubuk Raja District.
The activity is part of the Indonesia Asri Movement through the OKU Police Belida Programme, serving as a manifestation of the National Police’s concern for the safety, comfort, and needs of the community within their residential environment.
During the implementation, personnel from the OKU Police Community Guidance Unit (Sat Binmas) and the Lubuk Raja Sector Police worked side-by-side with the residents of Batumarta II Village to repair several damaged and potholed sections of the road.
The activity was led by the OKU Police Sat Binmas ranks and involved the Chief of Lubuk Raja Sector Police, unit officers, Lubuk Raja Sector Police personnel, the Bhabinkamtibmas of Batumarta II Village, and local residents.
The repairs were carried out because the condition of the potholes could disrupt comfort and potentially endanger road users. Through this mutual cooperation, it is hoped that this road section, which serves as a community access route, can be used more safely and comfortably once again.
The Head of Public Relations for the South Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Nandang Mu’min Wijaya, stated that the activity is part of the National Police’s efforts to be present and provide tangible benefits to the community.
“The presence of the National Police is not only about maintaining security and order, but also about how personnel can be sensitive to environmental conditions and the needs of the community. Mutual cooperation like this simultaneously strengthens the togetherness between the police and the public,” Nandang said in a written statement on Sunday (30/8/2026).
According to him, the collaboration between the police and the community needs to be continuously strengthened because various environmental issues can be better resolved when there is care and a spirit of togetherness.
The Belida Movement by the OKU Police is aligned with the spirit of preserving the Indonesia Asri Movement. The police are actively inviting residents to participate in maintaining the adequacy of facilities as well as caring for environmental cleanliness. This social initiative is targeted to revive the local culture of mutual cooperation (gotong royong).
Through this activity, the OKU Police hope that the culture of mutual cooperation and environmental care will continue to grow within the community, so that the presence of the National Police is felt not only in the maintenance of security and public order, but also through social activities that provide direct benefits to the daily lives of citizens.
