Belhotel expands operation

JAKARTA (JP): Hotel chain operator Swiss-Belhotel International will expand its hotel management network in other Indonesian cities following the opening of its hotel in Bali recently, a senior executive said.

Swiss-Belhotel president Gavin Faull said that the company's expansion to Bali was proof of the operator's trust in Indonesia.

"This is a wonderful step for our group and also part of our aggressive expansion strategy," he was quoted by Bisnis Indonesia as saying.

Swiss-Belhotel Resort Bali Aga director of sales and marketing Yunni Soewignjo said that the hotel operator was currently negotiating with several hotels in Asia, including Indonesia.

Without disclosing the hotels involved, she said that Swiss- Belhotel hoped to further strengthen its position in Indonesia.

Besides the resort in Bali, the company also operates Hotel Ciputra in Jakarta and Semarang. (tnt)
