Belgium's trade team to KL
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Belgium's Prince Philippe arrived Saturday
for a week-long working visit to boost trade ties, officials
said.
Prince Philippe and his 100-member delegation were welcomed at
Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Deputy Foreign Minister Leo
Michael Toyad and other senior government officials.
The minister-in-attendance was Deputy Transport Minister
Mohamed Ali Rustam.
Prince Philippe was accompanied by Belgium's Deputy Prime
Minister and Minister of Finance and Foreign Trade Philippe
Maystadt. The delegation also included officials of major Belgian
companies, trade federations and financial institutions.
The trade visit was organised by the Belgian Foreign Trade
Board of which Prince Philippe is honorary chairman.
Apart from working sessions, the delegation will visit Port
Klang in Malaysia's central Selangor State and the national
carmaker Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Bhd. (Proton) plant near
Kuala Lumpur.
