Belawan Immigration Deports Seven Foreign Nationals for Immigration Violations
The Belawan Class II Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) Office in North Sumatra deported seven foreign nationals for violating immigration regulations between January and 19 June 2026. “This measure is in line with the spirit of Immigration for the People, which places national security and public service as top priorities,” said Head of the Belawan Class II TPI Immigration Office, Eko Yudis Parlin Rajagukguk, in Medan on Friday. Eko stated that the seven foreign nationals comprised one Vietnamese citizen, two Malaysians, three South Koreans, and one Belgian. In addition to deportation, some of these foreign nationals were also subjected to entry ban measures, preventing them from re-entering Indonesian territory for a specified period in accordance with applicable regulations. “This step aims to ensure that the presence and activities of foreign nationals comply with the permits granted and to maintain stability and security within the working area of the Belawan Class II TPI Immigration Office,” he said. Eko added that his office continues to strengthen supervision of foreign nationals and enforce immigration law in a professional, humane, and accountable manner. Under the leadership of Director General of Immigration Herdarsam Marantoko, the immigration ranks continue to bolster oversight of foreign nationals and enhance immigration law enforcement that is professional, humane, and accountable.
