Belarusian President to Visit Indonesia, IDR 7 Trillion in Cooperation Planned

ZONAUTARA.com – The government of the Republic of Indonesia has secured investment and trade cooperation commitments with several companies in Eastern Europe, including Belarus. This step aims to strengthen national economic resilience and expand the network of Indonesian businesses on the global stage.

Indonesia has officially agreed to strengthen significant bilateral economic relations with the Republic of Belarus. The agreement was celebrated with the signing of official documents between the two countries and various business agreements in Minsk, Belarus on 15 May 2026.

Quoting a press release from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the two countries ratified the Agreed Minutes of the 8th Joint Commission Meeting (SKB) between Indonesia and Belarus on Economic Cooperation. This important document was signed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Airlangga Hartarto, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich.

“The agreements reached in this SKB must be translated into concrete steps that have an impact on improving economic relations between Indonesia and Belarus,” said Airlangga Hartarto. A positive response also came from the Belarusian side, which is committed to opening up collaboration with business actors from both countries.

The signing of 5 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Indonesian and Belarusian business actors is a concrete manifestation of the success of this diplomacy. The capitalisation value of this cooperation has reached IDR 7 trillion. The agreement includes cooperation between PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) and Nedra Nezhin, as well as strategic partnerships with several other Belarusian companies.

Furthermore, a high-level meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, and the Indonesian delegation. This meeting finalised preparations for the visit of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to Indonesia, focusing on the Roadmap for Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation which will facilitate the flow of capital and relations in various sectors.
