Belarus Offers Indonesia Cooperation in Building Factories and Workforce Training

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has affirmed his commitment to expanding cooperation with Indonesia across various sectors, including food security, industry, and healthcare. Lukashenko stated that food security cooperation is a priority, emphasising that every nation should be self-sufficient in meeting its people’s food needs. “Belarus is ready to contribute to Indonesia in this matter, particularly by supplying more fertilisers, agricultural equipment, and farming techniques,” Lukashenko said during a joint press statement at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (2/7/2026). Lukashenko also offered industrial cooperation, noting that Belarusian companies, including tractor and vehicle manufacturers from Minsk, are ready to collaborate with Indonesia. Beyond providing products, Belarus is prepared to train Indonesian workers in engineering fields. The training can be conducted in Indonesia or directly at industrial facilities in Belarus. “We are ready to teach our people not only here in Indonesia but also at our factories in Belarus. We are also ready to assist our Indonesian friends in other needed areas, such as the tyre industry,” he stated. He also opened the door to increasing exports of various Belarusian products to Indonesia, such as milk, meat, and other commodities. “You have requested the inclusion of milk, meat, and various other products into Indonesia. These are areas of cooperation we consider for realisation. We are ready to open various cooperation projects and expand any form of cooperation in Indonesia,” Lukashenko said. According to Lukashenko, the relationship between the two countries should not rely solely on trade. Belarus aims to encourage the formation of joint ventures as well as the construction and localisation of factories in Indonesia. In the healthcare sector, Belarus also expressed readiness to support the development of health services and medical education for Indonesians. Lukashenko further hoped for closer people-to-people ties, including through an increase in the number of Belarusian tourists visiting Indonesia. “Our country is ready to provide support for health and medical training for Indonesians. We are very pleased to see more tourists from Belarus coming here,” he said.
