Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto has revealed that the Bulak Kapal flyover construction project in East Bekasi district requires more than one hectare of land. The land stretches from Jalan HM Joyo Martono to the Bulak Kapal prison area. To realise this project, the Bekasi City Government must prepare a land acquisition budget reaching hundreds of billions of rupiah. Although the project receives support from the central government through presidential assistance, Tri said his side is still awaiting clarity on the form of that assistance. “We’ll just see how the presidential assistance process goes. Whether we’ll get the physical funds or what,” Tri said. Tri emphasised that the local government’s current obligation is to complete the land acquisition, targeted for completion by the end of May 2026. “The important thing is that the local government’s obligation regarding land acquisition will be completed by the end of May,” he stated. This was conveyed after visiting victims of the accident between the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train on the Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi route and the KRL Commuter Line at East Bekasi Station, at RSUD dr. Chasbullah Abdulmadjid on Tuesday (28/4/2026). “Broadly speaking, we have noted that many railway tracks are not properly guarded. The Bekasi Regional Government has proposed building a flyover because Bekasi is also dense and the railway needs are very urgent,” said Prabowo. As an improvement measure, the central government is preparing a budget of up to Rp 4 trillion to enhance crossing security, including building official guard posts and flyovers at high-traffic points. For information, the accident occurred between the Cikarang-bound KRL number PLB 5568A and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train on the Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi route on Monday (27/4/2026) around 20.52 WIB. All 240 passengers on the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek were reported safe.
